The Lost and Broken is the most recent short film project I have worked on with my Hilliard Film Club and production partner; Caleb Long.
This is the third project Caleb and I have made together, and so far it has been the most complex.
In "Alone", we wanted to focus on trying to write an allegorical story that had a deeper message attached to the main plot of the movie. In "Focus In", we wanted to test how good our stunt directing and coordinating abilities were, and we wrote a story around that.
This time around, we tried to merge those two skill sets, with action filled sequences, along with some very heart-felt and deeper dialogue driven scenes.
In February 2019, we submitted the film to the National Academy of Arts and Television-Ohio Valley Chapter-Student Production EMMY's. In June, the film was one of 2 nominated for the High School category of Long Form Fiction. The awards ceremony was held on August 10th in Louisville Kentucky, and the film won in it's category.
